THIS IS A PARADOX. PERHAPS A WISE MAN IN THE FUTURE CAN EXPLAIN IT; THAT FUTURE WILL NOT COME UNTIL THOUSANDS OF GENERATIONS HAVE PASSED”. WHY DO PEOPLE SEEK HELP FROM DREAMS IN THEIR SHORT LIVES CHASING THE TRUTH?
WHY DO THEY FOLLOW THE TRAIL OF LANDSCAPES, STORIES, IMAGES THAT MAKE THEM FEEL DREAMLIKE? IS IT POSSIBLE TO CREATE A DREAM, TO MAKE THAT DREAM COME TRUE? ARE FAIRY TALES DREAMS CREATED BY HUMANS? THIS STORY, WHICH FOLLOWS THESE QUESTIONS, IS THE IMAGE OF A FAIRY TALE CREATED LAYER BY LAYER. THIS SCENE, NAMED AFTER LE GUIN'S BOOK OF THE SAME NAME, FOCUSES ON A SURREAL MOMENT BETWEEN DREAM AND REALITY. THIS IMAGE IS A MOMENT OF LIMBO BETWEEN LEAVING AND STAYING, AS IF STANDING IN FRONT OF A GIANT PASSAGE. IT IS THE MOMENT WHEN ALICE DECIDES TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE. PERHAPS IT IS A STRANGE CHOICE OF REALITY, WHERE IT IS NOT CLEAR HOW REAL THE REALITY IS AND WHERE THE DREAM BEGINS AND ENDS. THE DREAM CREATED IN THIS FICTIONAL LANDSCAPE AIMS TO ESTABLISH A CONNECTION BETWEEN REALITY AND DREAM, TO CREATE A MOMENT OF EMPATHY. IT'S LIKE AN INTERTWINED MIX OF STORYTELLERS' DREAMS. TURNING HER BACK ON THE HARD REALITY SURROUNDED BY ANGER, HATRED, BRUTALITY, VIOLENCE AND BIGOTRY, AVOIDING FEELINGS SUCH AS BEING IGNORED, HUMILIATED, AND TRAUMATIZED, THE GIRL CHOOSES TO LIVE IN THE DREAM SHE HAS CREATED. JUST LIKE ALICE, SHE SEARCHES FOR WAYS TO ESCAPE FROM A WORLD WHERE SHE CAN'T EXIST, BY CHASING A RABBIT. SHE YEARNS FOR SUCH A PLACE AND DOES HER BEST TO MAKE IT EXIST.
AS FOR MUSHROOMS, A FEW WORDS SHOULD BE SAID ABOUT THEM. THEY ARE THE BEGINNING AND THE END. THEY WORK SECRETLY TO MAINTAIN THE ECOLOGICAL BALANCE OF THE WORLD. THESE MYSTERIOUS CREATURES, WITH MORE THAN 1.5 MILLION SPECIES, TRANSFORM DEATH AND DECAY INTO THE ETERNITY OF THE LIFE CYCLE. THEY ARE MYSTERIOUS TRANSFORMATIVES WHO GIFT DEATH TO LIFE AGAIN. IN THESE ASPECTS, THEY REPRESENT THE REINCARNATED WORLD AND THEY ARE SIMILAR TO ARTISTS IN THESE ASPECTS. THIS DREAM IS A THANK YOU TO THE STORYTELLERS. HE FOLLOWS THE BREADCRUMBS LEFT BY THEM.
